Title: Co-Crystal as An Emerging Strategy in Attenuating Cancer: Development & Application

Biography

Abstract

Cancer remains one of the most urgent health challenges globally, spurring relentless pharmaceutical research to develop more effective treatments. In the dynamic field of cancer therapy, cocrystals emerge as promising candidates, enhancing the solubility, stability, and bioavailability of traditional anticancer agents. Over recent years, co-crystals have shown significant advancement in drug development, particularly in modifying the physicochemical and pharmacokinetic attributes of APIs. These modifications include enhancements in solubility, dissolution rate, particle size, melting point, bioavailability, morphology, biochemical stability, physical form, and permeability. In pharmaceutical contexts, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) often engage in crystal lattice formation through non-ionic interactions with co-formers or co-crystal formers (Food and Drug Administration, 2018).

The significant impact of cocrystals in oncology, emphasizing their ability to revolutionize drug delivery and efficacy has been reported. Cocrystals represent a promising direction in cancer therapy, significantly enhancing traditional anticancer agents. This comprehensive exploration of recent advancements navigates the complex landscape of anticancer cocrystals, paving the way for innovative therapeutic strategies and better patient outcomes.
